Here’s to you, J.P. Patches, Seattle’s favorite clown

Jul 23, 2012

On Sunday, July 22nd our friend and favorite clown, the legendary J.P. Patches (aka Chris Wedes) passed away. Seattle was very lucky to have him, we feel privileged to have met him and we miss him (and his wonderful stories) already.

In this photo Shana, High Priestess of Rubber Chickens, perfectly sums up how we’re all feeling:

Thanks for all the laughs and memories, J.P. Patches. You were one-of-a-kind.

Revenge of the Super Awesome Show

Jul 21, 2012

Hooray! David and Shana are back with another brand new episode of the Super Awesome Show. This episode is a whirlwind of cool new Archie McPhee products and warehouse shenanigans.

Underpants and lederhosen for wine bottles?! You betcha.

The healing power of Abraham Lincoln and positive affirmations when used as adhesive bandages? Oh yeah!

But that’s just the beginning.

There are also Last Supper Placemats, juggling birds, mini Crime Scene and Biohazard tape, a ridiculously tiny bicycle, a dancing unicorn and Giant Googly Eyes.

Phew! You might need to lie down and rest a bit after this one. (Let us know if you you need a sleep mask)

Anthony Bourdain visits Archie McPhee

Jul 11, 2012

We had a particularly awesome visitor to the store yesterday, proving once again that you just never know what’s going to happen (or who’s going to walk in) on any given day at Archie McPhee.

The one and only Anthony Bourdain dropped in while shooting an episode of his Travel Channel show “The Layover”. Dan’l and Fuzz, the lucky ducks, posed for this photo with the renown chef, author, and tv personality.

Secret unicorns

Jul 6, 2012

We all have a secret unicorn living inside us.

Some unicorns dance:

Some unicorns drive wicked “SLAYER” vans covered in awesome murals:

What sort of secret unicorn are you?
